The enthusiastic responses to Saylor’s invitation highlight the increasing interest in Bitcoin discussions. Popular crypto influencer, The Bitcoin Therapist, remarked that such an interview would be groundbreaking. Analyst Kook, with an audience of 164,200 followers, tweeted that Saylor would 'Bitcoin pill' Rogan, implying he would deeply educate him on the topic. Another commentator, Brandon MacDougal, revealed that he'd tune in for the first time if Saylor appeared on the podcast.
Joe Rogan has a history of discussing cryptocurrencies, showing a notable preference for Bitcoin. In an October 2023 episode featuring OpenAI co-founder Sam Altman, Rogan stated that Bitcoin is the most intriguing cryptocurrency, hinting at its potential as a universal currency due to its capped supply. Although Rogan has not yet responded to Saylor’s proposition, he has welcomed guests from the Bitcoin sector in the past, including Andreas Antonopoulos during the early days of Bitcoin when its price was under $1,000.
Saylor’s firm, Strategy, currently owns 580,250 Bitcoin, which amounts to approximately $60.47 billion based on current valuations. Recently, Saylor speculated on the current Bitcoin price, suggesting it should already be sitting at $150,000. He attributed the price stagnation to short-term holders selling while a new wave of investors begins to enter the market. According to him, this transition reflects a market rotation, indicating a shift in investment mentality.
