The Glacier Drop, which targets around 37 million blockchains, was announced during Consensus 2025 in Toronto. This drop will focus on retail users, providing two airdropped tokens—NIGHT (for governance) and DUST (privacy-focused). XRP holders can qualify for these tokens by storing their XRP in eligible wallets.
Furthermore, Hoskinson confirmed that the Lace wallet will soon support XRP, facilitating users to manage their XRP alongside ADA and Bitcoin. His acknowledgment of RLUSD, launched on Ethereum and the XRP Ledger, indicates a possibility of Cardano supporting it in the future. This integration could enhance XRP's role within the DeFi space on Cardano, allowing for new financial services and lending platforms. Hoskinson believes that by late 2024, Cardano could provide XRP with powerful DeFi tools.
A Wanchain bridge that went live in February has already connected native XRP to Cardano, indicating a shift in Hoskinson’s perspective towards collaboration with the XRP community, a contrast to his past criticisms. Moreover, he proposed diversifying $100 million worth of ADA into stablecoins and Bitcoin to enrich Cardano's DeFi ecosystem.
